I’m sorry, God but you failed to make clear your personal stance on abortions and it’s really not playing out very well for women. It would’ve been prudent to have explicitly condoned or opposed abortions to the ancient writers of the bible. I’m sorry God, but your followers continue to focus on the sex life of others and assume they understand your stance on such things. Their actions do not depict love for their neighbour; rather they apply judgementalism and inflict derision on an already vulnerable sector of society. The so-called Manly 7 have protested their team’s inclusion of a rainbow on this weekend’s jersey by refusing to play rugby league, claiming it’s against their religion.

I’m sorry God, but you don’t seem to care if the actions of your believers causes immense pain. You certainly haven’t put any effort into supporting me in obtaining justice for sexual assault and I have had to endure religious platitudes for decades. If there are only words and inaction from powerful men including the, now former, Prime Minister then the injustice to sex crime victims continues unabated.

For Scott so loved the women's safety...

Scott and Jenny Morrison began attending the same Baptist church in Sydney as my family back in the early 1990s. This was the church where I was sexually abused as a child. Eventually, Scott joined the leadership team, becoming an elder and giving the occasional Sunday sermon, no doubt honing speaking skills he’d later take with him to Canberra.
