I’m sorry, God but you failed to make clear your personal stance on abortions and it’s really not playing out very well for women. It would’ve been prudent to have explicitly condoned or opposed abortions to the ancient writers of the bible. I would have expected an all-knowing deity to foresee the somewhat questionable Christian moral judgement being applied to women.
Read MoreI’m sorry God, but you are exceptionally cruel. God, Yahweh, I Am, or whatever the name is, killed many innocent men, women, and children. Reading the bible without confirmation bias provides consistent examples of God’s merciless behaviour. Jesus wasn’t even the first son of God that was murdered.
Read MoreI’m sorry God but I don’t believe the bible offers much value anymore. Many chapters of it are completely ignored by its followers and it has merely become a source of cherry picking to justify any position on any subject. Western doctrines have been significantly influenced by literature other than the bible and this dogma has dismissed many biblical demands.
Read MoreI’m sorry, God but you are significantly insecure, and this has affected your treatment of humanity over many years. I would have expected a deity to have a robust constitution, but the bible has certainly painted God in a more diffident light. Even right back to the Garden of Eden, we witness God’s total insecurity.
Read MoreThe bible is frequently read with confirmation bias by those people who have already decided upon their own view of God. In my opinion, objectively speaking, there are many tales in the bible to support the viewpoint that God is one of injustice and corruption.
Read MoreI’m sorry God, but your followers continue to focus on the sex life of others and assume they understand your stance on such things. Their actions do not depict love for their neighbour; rather they apply judgementalism and inflict derision on an already vulnerable sector of society. The so-called Manly 7 have protested their team’s inclusion of a rainbow on this weekend’s jersey by refusing to play rugby league, claiming it’s against their religion.
Read MoreI’m sorry God, but you don’t seem to care if the actions of your believers causes immense pain. You certainly haven’t put any effort into supporting me in obtaining justice for sexual assault and I have had to endure religious platitudes for decades. If there are only words and inaction from powerful men including the, now former, Prime Minister then the injustice to sex crime victims continues unabated.
Read MoreScott and Jenny Morrison began attending the same Baptist church in Sydney as my family back in the early 1990s. This was the church where I was sexually abused as a child. Eventually, Scott joined the leadership team, becoming an elder and giving the occasional Sunday sermon, no doubt honing speaking skills he’d later take with him to Canberra.
Read MoreI’m sorry God, but the little children aren’t much of a priority to government and you aren’t protecting them. Whilst many people are aware of the Bible verse with Jesus saying something like let the little children come to me, there are scant in-depth sermons about it. So, it seems like a verse that has largely been glossed over.
Read MoreWe did the task the government and its agencies had failed to do over the preceding three years. It would appear the Stewart family had more information on QAnon, and over a longer period, than the Prime Minister with access to all intelligent agencies.
Read MoreI’m sorry God, but I think you might actually be totally indifferent to the lives of individuals. The Christians say you’re a loving God, but that hasn’t been my experience. My life has suffered at the hands of Christians and I continue to battle harsh Christian hypocrisy.
Read MoreI’m sorry God, but the Christian Bible, is hampering gender equality in the modern era. There are many references in the Bible that encourage the submission of women. Alas, Christianity appears to be incapable of adapting their Biblical doctrine to women in 2021.
Read MoreMorrison, Australia’s most prominent Pentecostal Christian, is connected to the Capitol attack by his religion and QAnon. He is not condemning the violence committed in the name of his God nor is he condemning the actions of QAnon’s involvement in the attack.
Read MoreThere has been significant backlash from QAnon for speaking out against them. I have, apparently, become an enemy to the QAnon movement. What does it mean to be an enemy of QAnon? I’m not sure but I concede to having some safety concerns.
Read MoreQAnon’s extreme aggression means they can’t sensitively manage the delicate topic of child sexual abuse. I’ve had the life experiences from which QAnon claim they’re protecting people, yet I am despised by them. If my family members did not follow Q, they would not now consider me their enemy.
Read MoreTwitter has a significant number of Q followers who hide their identities behind fictional avatars and indistinguishable Twitter handles. This mode of hiding online, reminiscent of the hood-wearing of the KKK, implies QAnons are acutely aware their antics are not socially acceptable.
Read MoreLet’s consider the most prominent Christian in Australia at the moment: Scott Morrison. There are some issues, however, where I know Morrison bears false witness. One of my siblings and his family have been close friends with the PM and his wife for decades; so have some members of my extended family.
Read MoreI’m sorry God but I don’t believe the Bible is such an important book for Christianity. The modern bible used by Christians contains the Old Testament so they’re holding onto some Jewish beliefs but not in the same way the Jewish people consider the Old Testament.
